Prof. Chunjiang Zhao is committed to promoting the modernization of agriculture in China using information technology. He has engaged in systematic research and engineering development of precision agriculture for more than 20 years and developed innovative theory, methods and technologies suitable for the development of agricultural production in China, for individual farmer management, large-scale farms and controllable agricultural production in green house. He has achieved major breakthroughs in efficient information acquisition, quantitative analysis and diagnostic decision, intelligent equipment and control technology. Some products and technologies have been widely used in more than 20 provinces in China and some foreign countries, which has made significant social and economic benefits. He has made outstanding contributions and dramatically promoted the development of precision agriculture in China and shortened the gap between China and the developed countries.
